SNOW!!!!
We are in Washington for the weekend and in addition to 17 turkeys and a deer, Hannah got to see SNOW today (This passes for a perfect day when you're 17 months). This is the first snow she has gotten to play in, and oh my, did she love it. She couldn't wait to go "satz" (outside).
Yes, you may notice that she's not wearing any mittens. If you could tell me how to get her to wear them, that would be great. Even after 15 minutes of running around and falling down twice, she still wouldn't let me put them on her:
"Do you want mittens, Hannah?"
"No." [emphasized by then running from the offensive warming devices.]
We tried bribing her with a snowball, since her favorite thing in the world, next to dogs, is a ball in any shape or form. She REALLY wanted to hold the "baah," but....
"Hannah, you have to wear mittens to hold the snowball because it's too cold. Can I put your mittens on?"
"No." [more running from unacceptable digit preservers]
So after about 20 minutes I figured I was on the verge of becoming a CPS case and we had to go inside. She did cry a little when her fingers started to warm up...but I'm betting we won't get the mittens on next time, either.
She is, however, wearing a hat, which is a newly-tolerated wardrobe item. (And yes, it's huge. I don't know what happened- the right pattern, the right yarn...and a 6-12 mo hat that will fit her when she's 3.)
She also LOVES my parents' old, cranky animals. Interestingly, the cat that has been terrified of everyone for the last 15 years is the only one who tolerates Hannah. Well, obviously...she's being so sweet, right...

Katie--she's getting so big, I can't believe it! Love the snow picture--as for gloves, perhaps duck taping them to her coat?
Now I have seen an authentic snow angel!
Hi Katie:
This is Amanda Dyer from the Bell County DG group. I've lost your email address but I would like to ask you a DG-related question. Could you please send me an email at amandadyer at hotmail dot com ?
Thanks!
