Something new every day

As I think I've mentioned before, I have a baby-sharing agreement with my friend Emily. Monday and Wednesday, Hannah goes to her house. Tuesday and Thursday, her daughter CC comes to ours. It's great. I get to go to class and Emily gets to work on her home quilting business (or take a 4-hour nap. Personally, I'd be napping).

Anyway, it works great. Hannah loves CC and CC...is learning not to be terrified of Hannah. When I went to pick Hannah up yesterday, though, she came running to the door like this:

Yes, wearing a giant diaper like a sumo wrestler. Emily's middle child has some special needs and at four, he's still not quite potty-trained. And he's a big four-year-old, so he has some pretty large diapers. Apparently Hannah spent about a half an hour carrying one of Eddie's diapers around, lying down on her blanket and trying to put it on herself. (A little ironic considering how NOT fond she is of having her regular diapers changed.) So Emily finally just said, "Ok..." and put it on Hannah. And she was happy as a clam. It also solved the other problem of the day; Hannah had been repeatedly trying to take her overalls off. Yep, a giant sumo diaper makes a very effective belt.

I was having a grumpy sort of day and this just made me crack up! Thanks Hannah! Maybe you can start dressing her like this everyday and it will start a new baby trend...no? Hope life is good!

Lots cuter than the Sumo wrestlers that I saw up-close in Japan! Oh, my, what a character. Thanks for sharing the pix and the story.
