Party, Party, Party!

How did Hannah get to be ONE already? We have no idea where the time went, but we all definitely earned ourselves a party. Cocktails and Cupcakes, a celebration for young and old.

Speaking of young and old, here we are!

I had so much fun with the food and I'm so glad my mom was in town or I would have been hitting the Red Bull every night to get it all done (I have a little problem reconciling "wouldn't it be cool if" with the actual amount of time in a day). We had watermelon cocktails and orange amaretto cocktails and lots of fun appetizers:

guacamole and chips shaped like number 1s and hearts;

pesto snails and 'baby' carrots;

minty burgers, salami-and-blue-cheese dates, and snacks for the baby people;

and cupcakes, of course!

Hannah was much daintier with her cake than we expected. She loved the singing and having 30 pairs of eyes on her, but then she didn't quite know what to do. She explored the cupcake one tiny piece at a time, mostly just scraping off the frosting (what can I say- she's my girl!).

"Are you SURE this is ok?"

"Hey, you guys want to try some? It's delicious!"

We had a fun group of co-workers, old friends, new friends and lots of baby friends. The weather was perfect, the babies were (mostly) happy, and Hannah was completely in her element. She had been a little fussy and clingy before the party started, but once the guests arrived, she turned on the charm. The more people, the better!

"Oh, are you looking at ME? Yes, I AM adorable!"

But all good things, sadly, must end. After everyone left and she opened
a couple presents, it was clearly over.
When you try to climb the mommy, it's time for bed.
