My first year (Guest Blogger)

Wow! Being one is GREAT! Actually, I don't really remember anything beyond yesterday, and I don't know what "being one" means, but today is pretty great, so if I'm one now, then it must be great.
I hate to brag, but I have figured out some pretty cool things. If I point to the palm of one hand with the finger on the other hand, I get more of something, usually food. That is AWESOME. And pointing in general comes in very handy when The Morons fail to read my mind. I'm starting to figure out this strange language they speak- I think I know the meaning of 'ball,' 'blanket,' 'drink,' 'snack,' 'dog,' and 'daddy.' I still don't know what 'mommy' means. (I don't think it's anything important, though.) I can't decide if I want to try to speak their weird words back to them. Doesn't seem like I really need to, although I guess a more frequent diaper change might be nice sometimes.
I don't know what a "birthday" is, but last weekend we had a party for it. There were LOTS of people and they all paid attention to me, so I think I like birthdays. And I got my own cupcake. Have you ever tried frosting?? Why doesn't that stuff come on everything?

Ice cream is almost as good, although I don't know why you would try that cone thing when spoons work perfectly well.I love, love, love to play outside. I just wish they would quit with the hats and sunglasses - it really cramps my style. I'll compromise on the sunscreen, but I don't know why they don't want me to lick it. If it tastes like it smells, aerosol must be delicious! My favorite things at the playground are the swings, the slide and watching the big kids run around. I have to figure out how they do that jumping and climbing stuff.
I am so glad I have my blankie. In general, sitting still is BORING, but I love having my blanket around when I need a minute of relaxation. I just put my head down and suck my lip and aaaahhh...I'm recharged. When I can't find my blankie, the Omnipresent Meeter of All Needs (I think that's what they mean by mommy?) is an acceptable stand-in. At least until she finds my blanket.
Oh, have I mentioned STAIRS? Those are fun, too. I don't understand why they keep putting that barricade up. I could climb stairs all day. At least they let me play on the 2 little stairs by the kitchen. I can climb down them backwards, although sometimes I get turned sideways and scoot into the wall instead of down the stairs. But stairs are great. You go down, then you can go up again, and once you're up, you can go back down! When I grow up, I hope I can invent something half as fun as stairs.
All in all, I'd say it's been a pretty good year. I hear we're going somewhere called Montana soon.
I'm a little worried about that- what if they don't have any dogs in Montana? I love dogs and we have lots of dogs here. As long as they have dogs in Montana, I think it will be ok. Oh, and some ice cream. And a playground. That's all I need: dogs, ice cream, and a playground. And maybe some frosting.
