I like to eat eight apples and bananas...
Hannah is into solid food now, and I mean 'into' like tweens are 'into' the Jonas Brothers. It's quite possibly the center of her existence. So far we've tried avocado, banana, rice cereal, sweet potatoes, squash and the oat version of Cheerios (wheat is a potential allergen that we're trying to avoid for a little while longer). The photo is from her adventures with avocado- the mesh feeder is awesome because she can feed herself and it keeps her entertained for a good 20 minutes, but it is also extremely messy.
Everything has been delicious up to this point, which makes mealtime really fun. She's also a fan of holding onto the spoon, so some meals result in Hannah holding one utensil in each fist while I use a third one (whichever one she had to drop to grab the one going into her mouth) to poke in the food. Today was the first time she rubbed a spoon full of food in her hair, and of course it was a mix of rice cereal and prunes (apparently we've been feeding her too many bananas, if you get my drift). Then she immediately got really cranky (realizing she'd ruined her 'do?), so I halfheartedly wiped at it and just put her down for a nap. That'll be a nice, gluey mess to deal with later...
