Honest Scrap
So I got tagged by my friend Aimee for something called Honest Scrap, which as I understand it means that I list 10 random interesting things (that are also true) about myself and tag some other people. Here we go:
8. I would rather be cold than hot. This is why I couldn't live in Texas forever- way, way too hot for way, way too long. Wisconsin is really putting this theory to the test, though; today's high is supposed to be -6.
9. I have a really hard time spending money. Frugal, cheap, call it what you will...I'm the girl who shops the clearance racks at the outlet malls.
10. I used to think all I ever wanted to do was be a mom. I love it, but I've realized that I need to do something creative with part of my day or I start to go crazy. I don't need to work, as long as I have the time and energy to cook, blog, scrapbook, knit, write, etc. If I can find a way to get my brain engaged, I'm good.
1. Life is good! I love life. Except for when I'm sitting up and I forget to put my hands out when I start to tip over. That really hurts.
1. I really, really love to organize things. Not things like parties, more like junk drawers. It gives me a little bit of a high. Over Christmas, I cleaned out and organized my mom's laundry closet. It was very satisfying.
2. I am the queen of dorky hobbies. It started when I was little and discovered plastic canvas needlepoint (or whatever it's called- you know, the stuff you use to make kleenex box covers). I went from that to counted cross-stitch and now I really enjoy scrapbooking and knitting.
3. My idea of a perfect winter day would be having Hannah wake up at 8, the three of us going out to snowshoe in sunny, 30-degree weather for a couple hours, coming home to hot soup and fresh bread (made by whom, I'm not sure), then leaving Hannah with Nick for a couple hours while I went to a coffee shop to drink a latte, read a book and knit. Then I'd come home and put Hannah to bed before the baby-sitter came so Nick and I could go out for Indian food and a movie.
4. I think people should be able to live their 20s twice. That way, you could spend the first go-round traveling around the world, living in interesting places and trying different kinds of jobs. Then, on your second time through, you could get married, start your family, and settle down.
5. I can palm a men's basketball.
6. Nick was the first person I ever dated who I didn't have to explain anything about myself to. He just got me. And now he's stuck with me.
7. If I could have a superpower, it would either be the ability to go without sleep (think about what you could get done!), or the ability to speak any language in the world fluently. The ability to teleport yourself instantly wouldn't be bad either. Especially considering how tiring it's getting to fly with Hannah.

Since I don't have too many people to tag for this, Hannah said she'd contribute a list, too. Here's the guest blogger:
1. Life is good! I love life. Except for when I'm sitting up and I forget to put my hands out when I start to tip over. That really hurts.2. It's really fun to mess with The Morons sometimes. I can make this high, screechy sound kind of like a teakettle whistling. I keep at it until I see their foreheads start to twitch. Then I act cute until they relax. And repeat. It's awesome.
3. Have you ever had avocado? AMAZING.
4. Not too many things tick me off, but MAN I hate it when people try to wipe my nose or put my arms through shirt sleeves. Neither of these things seem really necessary to me, and I wish they would just stop trying. Same goes for getting strapped into my car seat.
5. It's very satisfying to bang things together. Try it sometime.
6. I just started something called "swim class," and I love it! It's like a huge bathtub, but not quite as warm. The best part is that my mom AND dad are there to play with me. I'm not sure what I think of being dunked, though.
7. Have you ever noticed how great paper is? It makes a cool sound when you grab it and it tears really well. Doesn't taste too bad, either. I don't really understand what Christmas was all about, but there was plenty of paper!
8. I wish I could figure out how to move on my own. Rolling over is just not cutting it anymore.
9. I make a lot of noise when I'm home with my mom, but when we go out around other kids, I spend most of my time sitting there watching them. I'm trying to figure out how they can move around by themselves!
10. I really like people. I'll be so cute if you'll just pay attention to me! (Works every time.)

I don't keep up with many other bloggers, so I'll just tag my friends Shanan, Sarah and Jenn, who are also dealing with a year of displacement while our husbands get just a little more training. Because heaven knows, 9 years of post-college training just wasn't quite enough.

Ok so I was thinking Marri had been talking to Hannah lately with the whole "disinterest" (aka furious raging/screaming) in getting strapped into the carseat deal:)...But, then, like babies do, the minute we thought she was going to get mad when we put her in the car seat, she got it in all "happy as a clam"-like. So we'll see! Every day is an adventure!. Give Hannah a kiss for me!:)-Love ya!-Auntie Kami:)
Oh my goodness - she is so stinking cute! I love the photo of her in the white coat! It is beautiful.
