13 pounds of adorable

I know this goes against the Rules of Parenting- Thou Shalt Not Gush Over Thine Own Offspring- but seriously, can she get any cuter? I mean really.
We had a little photo session in Reardan with a bonnet that my mom wore as an infant. Hannah was a very good sport...I'm hoping she's not turning into a narcissist. Our go-to trick for smiles is to show her herself in the mirror...
We just had her four-month checkup and she is officially long and lean- 90th percentile for height, 28th for weight. Which explains why some of her 3-6 month pants keep falling off. We know she's ours- she never left the room after she was born- but how a product of Nick and I could have absolutely no rear end baffles both of us.
Besides being just adorable, she is so much fun right now. She's smiling and occasionally laughing, although most of our monkey-like attempts to make her laugh yield a concerned "uh-oh, I'm afraid The Morons are, in fact, mentally damaged" look. She's rolled over once (back to front), but it took about 10 minutes and apparently was way too much work, because it hasn't happened again. Either that or she realized that ending up on her tummy was too big a price to pay for the toy she was trying to reach.
Other tricks: finding something she wants to grab and actually maneuvering her hands to do so; chewing on everything in sight (teeth coming soon?); squawking like a crazed bird when she's excited/angry/bored; kicking her feet out of the legs of her pajamas in the night so she ends up cross-legged with the empty pajama feet flapping around. She still loves to be outside and to go for walks, although she's turned into eyes and a nose sticking out of a fleece car seat bag as the temperatures begin to approach winter. She's also (usually) able to soothe herself to sleep if she goes down awake. Sometimes she lies in her crib and talks to herself for a while. Unfortunately, she's temporarily given up on our favorite trick: sleeping through the night. But she's so adorable I just can't hold it against her, even at 3 a.m.
