Uncle Jake and Aunt Ashley's Wedding

Here we are with the Hamster at Nick's brother's wedding reception (we were both in the wedding). I am amazed that we actually have two pictures in which she is not chewing on her dress. Mmmm, tulle overlay... delicious.Unfortunately, the pictures we took don't really do my hair justice. Nick's cousin has a baby who is almost two and they were trying to get him to say words like "baby" and "Hannah" and "flower." I was sure he was going to take one look at me and bust out "bouffant." It was so big Saturday morning that the girl who did our hair could see the fear in my eyes- she said, "Don't worry, honey, it's gonna fall- it's not going to be that big by one o'clock." Well, there's Texas-big and there's regular-big ... it was definitely oversized by my standards, but at least it descended from its 80s-Prom-Queen heights before the ceremony started.
Hannah had such a good time meeting all her Texas relatives that she decided to forgo most of her naps for the past 5 days. Needless to say, she was quite a treat by the time we got her home last night. Today was rough too- I am assuming she was worn out, but maybe she was just upset because her entourage had disappeared. ("What, YOU again?)
We did manage to put her down to bed without too much trouble. We're experimenting with letting her sleep freely. No, that's not a euphemism for naked (it's getting a little chilly here in Wisconsin). She's been swaddled every night since she's been born and it seems to help keep her asleep, but lately the wriggling has increased and we usually find her arms sticking out in odd directions by morning. So she's just in her jammies tonight- we'll see how it goes. Last time I checked on her, she was holding onto one foot while rolling back and forth and making odd squawking sounds. Mensa may not come calling. Especially after they take note of the fact that she doesn't seem to be able to suck her thumb without poking herself in the eyes. Both eyes.

Not everyone can be Mensa material. My dog eats her own poop. Be glad Hannah doesn't do that. It is really anti-social behavior.
Sorry, had to through that in! You look fantastic (Nick too)...loved the post!

Katie you look wonderful and Hannah is adorable!! I love the hair :) Maybe texas has taken over my mind and now I am in favor of bouffant hair style! Hope you all are doing well!
TOO adorable. All of you!! :)
Katie and Nick! You guys look dapper and baby looks tiny and cute! And Iowa City? Only our favorite place ever where Marc did fellowship. We lived right by the university and I was a little JEALOUS that you got to go to the Hawkeyes game. Glad you guys are doing well, and you tell that little baby to behave herself or she's grounded. no more crying. sounds like she had colic?
