The real deal
Hannah was a gem for the first two weeks of life. While we were packing boxes and loading the truck, she sat in her bouncy chair or in her swing, watching us work and napping. She never even really cried- we'd get a couple warning shots when she was hungry and that was it. She didn't make a peep on the plane ride to Chicago, either.
Just as we were congratulating ourselves on our good fortune of getting such a laid-back baby, the real Hannah emerged. Don't get me wrong, she's still pretty sweet and fun most of the time, but she's developed some combination of acid reflux and perhaps colic that kicks in every evening around 9 p.m.- just about the time Mom and Dad are getting very tired and would really like to think about putting her down for the night. Nick says it's when our other child, Banshee Baby, decides to come out and play. It doesn't last terribly long- maybe an hour at the most- but it sure does stink. We were on the verge of promising her a pony as a reward for her great behavior. No pony for you, Banshee Baby!
