Counting Down...

Here I am at a little over 37 weeks! People keep telling me that I really don't look that big, which scares me a little because I can't imagine being any bigger.

I feel like I'm a little kid waiting for Christmas. Ok, maybe that isn't the best analogy- last time I checked, Christmas didn't come with any physical pain (I would be asking for very small, light gifts if I had to push them all out of my own body...) and you always know what day it's going to fall on. But still, we've been waiting for this event for almost 9 months now, which is only slightly longer than when the average 6-year-old starts anticipating the next Christmas.

I think Hannah is pretty much ready to make her grand arrival also. Her movements have gone from, "Whoa, hands and feet! Hands and feet! I can move my hands and feet!" to "I know I can get out of here...if I could just find the exit. Maybe if I use these ribs for leverage..."

I am hoping that her arrival doesn't catch her poor father by surprise. He's taking the most stressful test of his life- yes, including the MCAT- on Monday. It's the radiology board certification exam, so it's a comprehensive test over everything in radiology (which is a lot)...and it's an oral examination that lasts four hours...and it's in Louisville, Kentucky. So Hannah really needs to wait until at least Tuesday to make her arrival. I know Nick is super excited to be a dad, but he's had almost no mental energy to devote to anything outside of radiology since about February. He has made it to almost all of the doctor's appointments, so maybe the arrival of our child won't totally catch him off-guard!
