It's a girl!

We found out on Thursday that my hunch was correct- we are having a little girl! Back before I knew I was pregnant, I was thinking and praying about having a baby and the name 'Hannah' popped into my head. We had talked about baby names in the past and I had never really been able to come up with a girl name that I liked. I've never felt like God has spoken to me before, but I can't help but feel that I got a message this time, as I was, in fact, already pregnant and it is a little girl.

So naturally, we're going to name her Hannah, which means 'grace.' We're still working on a middle name, having ruled out Barbara (think cartoon creators), Montana (current pre-teen pop icon) and Leigh (sing Puff the Magic Dragon to yourself). We had been advised not to share the name we picked out, as it can invite unsolicited comments, and are just hoping for a minimum of unsolicited middle-name advice. :)

This weekend we took Hannah to Sixth Street in Austin for Nick's brother Jake's surprise birthday party. She attended two live music shows and hit four bars. (We're such stellar parents already.) We decided to take her home when she kicked me in the stomach in the middle of a very loud blues show- not sure if she was kicking along with the beat or protesting the decibels... Just to reassure everyone, Nick confirmed ahead of time that her ears are incredibly well-insulated in there and that the ultrasound is actually "louder" than the rock music.
