17 weeks and growing...

ONLY because I love my dear friend Keri Baker am I publishing this "pregnant Katie" photo.

This reminds me of when I was 12 and my brother got the chicken pox- I thought it was fascinating and wanted to count how many spots he had, not empathizing with how unpleasant it was for him until I caught the pox a week later. Before I was pregnant, I thought the pregnant lady pictures were great fun...now I see that the only thing worse than feeling chubby is having photographic evidence of the fact. I was wondering where all the weight I had gained was going- now I see that a good portion of it is in my face. But because I know this is fun for everyone else, I'll try to keep putting pictures up every 4 weeks or so.

In case anyone is counting, I'm at 17 weeks right now. I had another doctor's appointment yesterday and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It's humming away at about 135 beats per minute.
