First look at baby!

I'm officially 12 weeks pregnant! Today was also my first OB appointment and my first look at Baby Cantrell! (Nick wasn't there- the appointment-maker said I wouldn't be having an ultrasound...) Of course, we think he/she is a precious little blurry thing, even if it has eyes roughly the size of an alien at this point. Thankfully, 1) there is definitely only one baby in there and 2) it appears to have all the right bits in the right places at this point.

I suppose I should also be thankful that I haven't thrown up, my doctor seemed to think I was especially lucky. My mom's comment on morning sickness was "I was never sick a day with either you or your brother" so I wasn't exactly counting my 6 weeks of sea-sickness as lucky. On the other hand, we went to a party the other night where someone told me they threw up from day 1 through week 37, so I guess I have it pretty good. I am insanely hungry all the time, which is both fun and terrifying...the literature says that I should have been needing 0 extra calories up to this point. Tell that to my stomach.
